Jill Anderson represents the Hadlow and East Peckham Ward. She is Deputy Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling.
She was first elected to the Borough Council in 1990 and was Cabinet Member for Housing for several years until May 2016, when she took on the post of Chairman of the Licensing Committee. She has served as Governor on local Primary and Secondary Schools and was Chairman of the Citizens Advice Bureau in Tonbridge for 8 years. Her main interests on the Borough Council are Housing, Environment and Street Scene.
"I joined Hadlow Parish Council in 1979 and was elected to the Borough Council at a by-election in 1990. My main interests are helping residents with their problems and housing and environmental matters – I hate litter! I have also campaigned vigorously against development in the Green Belt around our villages. I worked hard when the Local Plan was being prepared to see that the homes we need for our growing families are in the best available places and that appropriate facilities are provided, both for the people who will be living in them and for existing residents."
