Dennis successfully stood as a candidate in the 2019 local elections and now represents the Higham ward in Tonbridge.
"I enjoyed a long career with BT employed in engineering and commercial management and moved to Higham in 2013. It was like coming home because I have been visiting Tonbridge and the local area on a regular basis for more than 50 years and have worked in both Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
Fairly soon after moving here, I became involved in developing a community based response to a proposalby Kent County Council to build a school on Green Belt land, off Higham Lane. This was a challenging time because we needed to act quickly. I got to know many people and developed a real respect for the personalities and the skills which came together to defeat the proposal. During this time, I also worked with TMBC and developed a real interest in the prospect of working for residents as a councillor for Higham, where I live. I have been demonstrating my commitment over many years and hope to continue to do so if, elected in May 2019."
