Tickets for an Evening with Baroness Trumpington at Maidstone's newly refurbished Hazlitt Theatre on Thursday 4 September commencing at 7pm are selling fast. This promises to be a very special evening of music and memories from one of the Conservative Party's most remarkable characters.
Baroness Trumpington, despite being 92 years of age, is still a daily attender in the House of Lords. She was a "Land Girl" on Lloyd George's farm, worked as a code breaker at Bletchley Park and after the war became Lord Mayor of Cambridge before joining Mrs Thatcher's Government as Minister at the Department for Health and later Agriculture.
Baroness Trumpington is coming to West Kent to help raise funds for the 2015 General Election. She will be talking about her remarkable life and playing her favourite pieces of music, somewhat like Desert Island Discs.
After the show she will be signing copies of her best selling biography "Coming Up Trumps". All proceeds from ticket and book sales will be donated to the local Association.
